ABOUT US
We are Nick Coetzee & Ronald Smith and together we run our cattery.
We have been very fortunate with our journey into the cat fancy. It all started with our very first Exotic Shorthair pet, Rebekah who came to us from Carmandale Persians and Exotics in 2015. We fell in love with her and she still remains Queen-Bee in our home. She is a Silver Shaded Black Exotic and is absolutely gorgeous. We love her to bits and she just makes our lives so much better just with her being a part of it.
After having Rebekah for around two years we decided maybe it was time to get her a companion. During initial queries with the cattery , I had mentioned how breeding Persians & Exotics has always been something I'd love to do. From that point we made the decision that breeding was what we wanted to do. Now under the mentorship of Shaun Armand & Antoni Nortman of Carmandale Persians & Exotics we have finally got to the point we aimed for. Within a few months we had our cattery setup and registered and got our first breeding stock. Things just seemed to fit into place so easily for us making us believe that this is what we are meant to be doing.
We are truly grateful and thankful to have both Shaun Armand & Antoni Nortman as not only our mentors, but friends. Thanks for all your help, support, time & efforts guys. Without you, Gato Exotique would have never been born.

2017 saw our cattery exhibiting at cat shows for the first time. It started with a road trip to a CFSA SOPA show in Pretoria in April 2017. What an experience. We have met so many wonderful people in the fancy who have welcomed us in with open arms.
Our very own Harley-Quinn was nominated for COTY GARS in end 2017 and for that we are so proud of our little girl.
